Just a few days after Liverpool’s capture of Darwin Nunez, it is being widely reported that Bayern Munich are on the cusp of signing Sadio Mane.
The Senegalese international is being roped in as the desired replacement for Robert Lewandowski, who, in turn, is seemingly on the verge of a move to Barcelona.
The Catalan outfit had faced numerous financial roadblocks in their pursuit of the Polish international over the past few weeks. But in light of the recent approval for the sale of BLM and TV rights, Barça should not have much difficulty sanctioning the move to sign the forward.
A recent report from Diario SPORT has offered an update on Barcelona’s pursuit of Lewandowski, suggesting the club are confident of sealing the deal for the Pole for a little over €30 million.
The general consensus over the transfer saga is that Barcelona have had their €32 million bid rejected by Bayern. But it appears the Catalans are anticipating a shift in stance from the Bavarians following the likely capture of Mane.
In order to balance the books, Bayern Munich could consider sanctioning the sale of Lewandowski for just over €30 million, thus paving the way for the Pole to put an end to his spell at Allianz Arena and start a new adventure at Camp Nou.
Lewandowski had already signed personal terms with Barcelona over a three-year deal. So it is up to Barcelona and Bayern Munich to reach an agreement over the transfer fee.
The report from SPORT suggests Barça are unlikely to formalize anything in the month of June, but they are confident of announcing the signing of the Bayern Munich frontman at the start of July.
