Surprise playmaker?: Man United have sensational creator hidden in their ranks

Manchester United may have a dangerous weapon in their arsenal in the form of Alex Telles who showed what he can bring in the win over Watford.

It’s clear the former Porto man can still bring even more to the table but against the London club, he managed to hold his own.

It was Telles’ delivery that Scott McTominay headed in for the narrow 1-0 victory but it wasn’t the only chance he created.

The Brazilian defender was signed in the summer for a cut-price figure and fans celebrated his arrival as they looked forward to his attacking talent.

Telles hasn’t yet settled in fully but there are signs he can press on now and make the left-back position his own in the absence of Luke Shaw.

Surprise PL side reportedly set to challenge Liverpool for Kabak signing

Liverpool will face a challenge from West Ham for the signature of highly-rated centre-back Ozan Kabak, according to Bild (via Caught Offside).

The 20-year-old has been heavily linked with the Reds of late, with the club reportedly having made contact with Kabak’s representatives in November, with little success.

Fraser Forster reveals he always wanted a second bite of the cherry at Southampton and was never interested in returning to Celtic

Southampton goalkeeper, Fraser Forster, was pursued by Celtic for some time in pre-season. The goalkeeper was also linked with a return to the Glasgow club this month, as the Hoops look to fill the void between the sticks since he left. However, his recent start and clean sheet against Liverpool meant that was looking unlikely, before Forster put the final nail in the Celtic transfer coffin today.

The former England international told the Daily Echo : “It’s been a strange few years, it’s been a tough few years Obviously it’s a club I love a lot. I had some fantastic times here in the past and I’ve always been keen to come back and try and play here.

“He has more running than his father” Mancini praises Juventus star

Federico Chiesa was the star of the night when Juventus beat AC Milan 3-1 Wednesday evening.

The attacker joined the Bianconeri from Fiorentina at the start of this season, and that was a major step up for him.

Some players would struggle to make an impression when they make such a move.

Chiesa didn’t exactly hit the ground running immediately after he made the move, however, the attacker has now emerged as one of the key players for the club.

His two goals against Milan shows that he is developing well and delivering the value that the club thought he could deliver when they signed him in the summer.

His recent performance drew some praise from the Italian national team manager, Roberto Mancini, who spoke about his father Enzo Chiesa and said he is a more mobile attacker than his dad was.

The national team boss also said that joining … Read the rest

Fabrizio Romano suggests Liverpool will struggle to sign players due to one big reason

Reputable journalist Fabrizio Romano has claimed that most players won’t wish to join Liverpool for fear of being replaced by the first-teamers they’re potentially covering for.

With Virgil van Dijk and Joe Gomez likely out of action for much of the rest of the season, the Reds have been linked to a host of defenders who could fill-in for the meantime.

“A lot of players now don’t want to join Liverpool [and] play 5, 6, 7 matches, then the big ones are coming back from their injuries and then [the new signings] are on the bench for one season or more,” the Italian journalist explained on the Here We Go podcast (via This Is Futbol). “So, at the moment, Liverpool are still with the same idea: ‘We can stay with this team. If we have an opportunity, OK. If we don’t, we stay with this one’.”
