The ultimate big game player- Man United star must start vs Chelsea

Manchester United star Marcus Rashford has his fair share of critics but one thing he can’t be accused of is disappearing during a big match.

One of the reasons some fans wanted Romelu Lukaku to leave Old Trafford, despite his obvious goalscoring record, was because of his tendency to not show up when most needed, or at least that was the opinion.

Some of the fair criticisms aimed at Rashford has been his decision-making and occasionally his shooting.

The problems with both are rather specific ones and not general, such as the issue with his decision-making is normally only when United are on the counter and the problem with his shooting is how he sometimes chooses the wrong technique.

However, statistics show he has an invaluable trait which is the ability to pop up in matches that matter and not just grab goals but tally up a few assists too.… Read the rest

“Better than Firmino”: former Liverpool player claims substitute showed up Brazilian

Former Liverpool player Stephen Warnock believes second-half substitute Takumi Minamino out-performed Bobby Firmino in last night’s 1-0 win over Ajax.

Speaking to BBC Radio 5 Live, the former defender said the Japan international made a difference. “You can certainly see the difference in Minamino upfront,” he said.

With the way he is holding the ball up and is linking up play. He has done better than Firmino did in the first half. Everything good that has happened so far in this second half has been in and around his hold up play and link-up play.

It has allowed the midfield to press higher. It has then allowed the defence to come up 5 or 10 yards to stop that ball from coming over the top.

What it has done is put Ajax players under pressure and it doesn’t allow a simple ball to feet Read the rest

Real Madrid nightmare continues for misfit as prosecutors push for six month jail term for ignoring Covid-19 protocols

Luka Jovic didn’t have a great first season at Real Madrid, but at least it looked like he could have a fresh start this season with a chance to carve out a role in Zinedine Zidane’s plans.

It’s not gone well on the pitch after missing some good chances when he does play, while it’s not a great look when he started for Real during their shock loss to a depleted Shakhtar Donetsk last night.

The problem is that things could get much worse for him, and it’s a story from a few months ago that could come back to bite him.

Ronaldo out of Barcelona game after second positive covid test

Cristiano Ronaldo is no longer facing a race against time to feature for Juventus in their Champions League game against Barcelona next week after testing positive a second time for Covid-19.

The game would have seen the former Real Madrid attacker play against his greatest foe, Lionel Messi.

The Portuguese attacker has been self-isolating since he tested positive to coronavirus and he has already missed at least two games for the Bianconeri.

He will also miss this weekend’s Serie A game against Verona and he will not be happy to miss the clash against Barcelona.

Juventus did all that they could to ensure that the Portuguese attacker didn’t miss the game, to no avail.

Earlier, Calciomercato reported that Juventus had already forwarded to Upap – the UEFA body in charge of certifying players to play games, that the attacker was in good health and he is asymptomatic.

That would have … Read the rest

Warned: Man United star in hot water after disciplinary breaches

Manchester United star Mason Greenwood is reportedly in a delicate situation after being warned by the club in regards to breaching disciplinary rules.

The young forward has not had a good start to the season in regards to his off the pitch behaviour and he risks ruining his potential by his latest actions.

Greenwood was forced to apologise publicly after breaching Covid-19 protocols while away with the England senior team for his first call up.

The talented teenager was soon out of action for United as well with some reports claiming he’s in trouble for going out for a drink with Brandon Williams one night before a match.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer denied any such rumours and insisted Greenwood has picked up a niggle but now there are new reports in regards to his behaviour.

Harvey Elliott ‘best player on pitch’ on ‘quality’ debut: Many Blackburn fans react to LFC starlet’s debut

Harvey Elliott was named in the starting XI for Blackburn tonight against Watford.

Sadly for our 17-year-old, on loan with Tony Mowbray for the campaign in the Championship, Blackburn lost 3-1, but the reaction to Elliott’s debut has been entirely positive, judging by Twitter.

Many fans praised his role, with the youngster doing a creative job on Blackburn’s right-wing.

We want Elliott to get as many minutes as possible this term. It’s a great sign that he got a start tonight, which means he must have been doing the business in training – which is perhaps no surprise given he’s been working with Sadio Mane, Mo Salah et al for over a year now!

Barcelona hit back against legal threats and insist new signing was a free agent

It’s clear that the transfer world involving young players is pretty murky, but it does make sense when you see the amount of money involved.

There’s no guarantee that any “wonderkid” is going to make it so the parents and agents will want to cash in when they can, but there’s an unsavoury situation kicking off between Barcelona and Boca Juniors over the signing of Ramos Mingo.

Marca confirmed that the defender joined Barca when he turned 18 earlier on this year, but Boca have launched legal action and feel they have a legal case due to the contract situation surrounding his exit.

It sounds like the player was treated badly by a previous board so he was more than happy to move to Spain, but clearly Barca signed him thinking that he was a free agent instead of reaching an agreement with Boca.

Chiesa understands the criticism that comes from being a Juventus player

Juventus hasn’t made the best of starts to this campaign and because the Italian champions have set the bar so high over the years, the expectations are high.

When they fail to meet those expectations, they always get some stick and that has been the case in their last few games.

The Bianconeri were held to a 1-1 draw by Serie A new boys Crotone in their last league game.

That draw came after they were held to a 2-2 draw by AS Roma in the previous league game that they played.

They have been awarded a 3-0 win in their unplayed game against Napoli, but in reality, they had won just a game before last night.

Ahead of that match, the pressure was already mounting on them to get back to form.

They responded well by beating the Ukrainians, and Chiesa was one of the players who put in … Read the rest

"He's unreal", "My defender"- Man United fans praise star's outstanding performance

Manchester United fans absolutely lauded Aaron Wan-Bissaka for his humungous display vs PSG as he was instrumental in the brilliant 2-1 win.

The talented Englishman couldn’t be beaten no matter how many times the French champions tried and supporters couldn’t praise him enough.

Wan-Bissaka played so well that World Cup winner Kylian Mbappé had to switch flanks just to try and make an impact.

In fact, the superb full-back played so well defensively that he was able to break forward consistently and offer a threat on the other end of the pitch too.

Wan-Bissaka’s performances was hugely enjoyed by fans all over the world and it’s safe to say United have a gem of a defender.

Both Thiago and Matip have seemingly picked up their injures in the feisty Merseyside Derby on Saturday afternoon, but it’s stressed they’re not thought to be serious.

Liverpool are said to be cautious of upcoming schedule and can’t risk making things worse, after Virgil van Dijk picked up a horrific long-term injury at the weekend.
