C41 Alfa Romeo Racing completes its first miles in Barcelona

The Alfa Romeo Racing ORLEN C41, the team’s car for the 2021 season, took to the track for the first time at 09:32 am at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya. On a crisp morning under the Spanish sun, Robert Kubica had the honour to be the first man behind the wheel of the new car in this first, crucial instalment of 2021 on-track action, with the team completing 29 laps overall, mostly on the “short” layout.

Monolite Racing Announce Delli Guanti, Ferati for 2021 FRECA Campaign

Monolite Racing have become the latest team to announce drivers for the 2021 Formula Regional European Championship by Alpine season, with Italian teenager Pietro Delli Guanti being joined by Swiss racer Jasin Ferati.

Both drivers are making the step up to Formula 3 machinery for the first time in 2021 having previously competed in Italian Formula 4 last year.

Delli Guanti took one victory last year at the Autodromo Nazionale Monza as well as seven other points finishes while racing for BVM Racing, with the Italian ending the year twelfth overall in the final standings.

Adler Group and Sauber Motorsport continue their partnership

NASCAR Cup COTA race dubbed Texas Grand Prix, tyre test set for early March with former champs

The NASCAR Cup Series race at Circuit of the Americas has a new name that breaks away from convention of containing the race distance. On Thursday, Speedway Motorsports (SMI) announced EchoPark Automotive will sponsor the 23 May race and dub it the EchoPark Texas Grand Prix. The circuit will also host a Goodyear tyre test on Tuesday, 2 March with former series champions Chase Elliott, Martin Truex Jr., and Brad Keselowski.

The term “Grand Prix” is commonly associated with other forms of road racing such as Formula One, which runs the United States Grand Prix at the circuit. Air Force vet Keith McGee making NASCAR Truck debut at Richmond with AF Reserve support

17 April’s ToyotaCare 250 at Richmond Raceway will mark the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series début of Keith McGee, who will drive the #33 for Reaume Brothers Racing. While the plans have been in place since January, the United States Air Force veteran will have backing from the Air Force Reserve, as announced on Wednesday evening.

“All of here at Reaume Brothers Racing are honored that Keith will have the support of the US Air Force Reserve for his upcoming races this season,” said RBR owner Josh Reaume in a team release. “It is really cool to see that the Air Force Reserve is helping back a veteran of their branch pursue his dream in NASCAR now, after he has served for this country.”

USAC ace Chris Windom joins Rick Ware Racing for Cup debut on Bristol dirt

As the first NASCAR Cup Series dirt race in over five decades, 28 March’s Food City Dirt Race at Bristol Motor Speedway will unsurprisingly feature some new names with dirt track backgrounds. One of such drivers was revealed on Tuesday when Rick Ware Racing announced Chris Windom will drive the #15 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 1LE in his maiden Cup start. NOS Energy will serve as sponsor.

Gordon Murray Automotive has unveiled its T.50s Niki Lauda track-focused supercar for the first time. Developed in parallel with the T.50, the most driver-centric supercar ever built, the T.50s Niki Lauda has been conceived, designed and engineered to offer the ultimate on-track driving experience.

Like the T.50, the T.50s Niki Lauda has been designed and engineered without compromise, but with an even more extreme specification. It weighs just 852kg and will be powered by a substantially redesigned version of the T.50’s Cosworth-engineered 3.9-litre V12, producing 725bhp, revving to 12,100rpm and going through a newly-designed Xtrac six-speed paddle-shift gearbox. Advanced aerodynamics, aided by a 400mm rear-mounted fan, will produce up to 1500kg of downforce for optimum track performance.
