"It's cheeky"- Solskjaer makes brilliant claim after refereeing error vs Chelsea

Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer was clearly not impressed with the standard of officiating vs Chelsea and believes certain decisions didn’t go his team’s way due to some outside influences.

The legendary Norwegian watched on as his players dragged their feet to a drab 0-0 draw vs the Blues as their poor record vs the ‘Big Six’ continues.

United have not impressed against the likes of Tottenham, Liverpool, Arsenal and Manchester City this season, particularly in comparison to last season.

Solskjaer will hope to solve the pattern of issues soon but while he admitted his players could’ve done better in the final third, he made sure to let his unhappiness with the referee be known.

The Red Devils saw their gap to fierce rivals and league leaders City extended to all but end whatever hopes were left for a title challenge.

(Video) Souness waxes lyrical over ‘extremely gifted’ Curtis Jones; says midfielder could have big LFC future

Curtis Jones’ performance against Sheffield United attracted praise from Sky Sports pundit Graeme Souness, who stated that the youngster “could have a big part to play in Liverpool’s future”.

The 20-year-old capped off a confident outing against Chris Wilder’s side with a clinical finish inside the box to open the scoring following a poor clearance.

With injuries having robbed Jurgen Klopp of several key midfielders, including Jordan Henderson and Fabinho, the No.17 has benefitted from an opportunity for a greater number of minutes this term than would have perhaps been available in a normal season.

Nonetheless, Jones has grasped his chance firmly with both hands, with his performances deservedly attracting plaudits – long may it continue.

Man United youngster opens up on his future amid concerning rumours

Manchester United prospect James Garner has admitted he’s open-minded about his future as he continues to enjoy a successful loan spell with Nottingham Forrest.

The young midfielder is one of those expected to have a bright future and many fans see him as Michael Carrick‘s true heir.

Garner hasn’t enjoyed a proper breakthrough under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and instead has been spending his time on loan with Watford in the first half of the season and the aforementioned Nottingham Forrest in this second half.

Given United’s injury crisis in midfield with the likes of Paul Pogba, Donny van de Beek and Scott McTominay all out, having the 19-year-old might’ve proven useful at this time.

Fred and Nemanja Matic are the last two natural senior midfielders left and should either one pick up a knock, it could spell trouble for Solskjaer.

Official: Barcelona confirm Pedri muscular injury

All victories come with a cost and Barcelona’s great triumph over Sevilla is no exception. Sadly, the Catalans’ young prodigy, Pedri, had to leave the pitch in the second half of the clash and now, the club has officially confirmed that the 18-year-old had sustained a muscular injury.

As of right now, however, we still don’t know how serious it is and we’ll have to wait for further information, which is most likely to arrive tomorrow. Unfortunately, the early speculations are not good as it seems Pedri could indeed be out of commission for a couple of weeks at least.

Needless to say, that’s a huge hit for Barcelona since the schedule is unrelenting. Soon, it will be time to face Sevilla again in the Copa del Rey and also Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League. Doing so without Pedri could indeed be troublesome.

But we also have to wonder … Read the rest
