Messi’s stance is clear: either the board leaves or I’ll leave

Lionel Messi continues to put pressure on the Barcelona board. Reportedly, he has a very clear stance about the crisis at Barcelona: either the board run by president Bartomeu leaves, or Messi himself will leave. The Argentine is dissatisfied with the management, and lack of planning. Not to mention the latest 8-2 humiliation against Bayern Munich, which marked as Leo’s worst defeat in his career.

The only way Messi changes his mind about leaving the club goes through a new and convincing sporting project. Many journalists believe that the rumors regarding the Argentine leaving his home club is a way to put pressure on Bartomeu.

Even though Messi has communicated that he wants to leave immediately, a senior member within the club reminded that “Lionel Messi has a contract until June 2021, with a release clause of €700m”.

However, when it is about the best player on the planet, anything can happen. We will need to wait and see how the Barcelona management will respond to Messi’s behavior, but one thing is clear: The 33-year-old has had enough of this board.
