2020 Italian GP, Ferrari second practice report: Charles P9, Sebastian P12
The Scuderia Ferrari cars didn’t appear in the top 10 throughout the three-day weekend at Spa and after the first practice session at Monza that was also true. Charles Leclerc finished a tow-assisted 11th in the opening session, whereas Sebastian Vettel was all the way down between the two Williams cars in 19th.
The four-time champion certainly expected better this afternoon, but to what extent will Ferrari as a whole be able to move forward from the middle of the midfield? Things seemed to improve a little bit for the Maranello team in the second practice session at Monza, but still far from where the Italian side should be.
Scuderia Ferrari Monegasque driver Charles Leclerc finished in P9, while Sebastian Vettel improved to 12th in second practice but nearly ended his session in the barriers after spinning his Ferrari at the first of the Lesmos, an accident that was almost mirrored by Leclerc as both drivers struggled to tame their tricky SF1000s.
The Italian outfit is expecting another difficult weekend at its home race after its struggles at the Belgian Grand Prix.
Here are the complete results from the second practice (FP2) session at Monza, near Milan in Italy.
