AkzoNobel and McLaren Racing extend their partnership

McLaren Racing today announced the extension of its long-term partnership with paint and coatings partner, AkzoNobel.

Since 2008, McLaren and AkzoNobel’s partnership has created and developed advanced paint technology, not only contributing to the performance of the McLaren Formula 1 car but using Formula 1 technology to drive innovation in other industries. The team at AkzoNobel have worked closely with McLaren to actively save weight through the use of new products and techniques.

As well as helping to accelerate innovation in coatings technology and colour development, the collaboration has also paved the way for future exploration in new opportunities, while ensuring both AkzoNobel and McLaren’s commitment to sustainability is advanced.

For the 2021 Formula 1 season and as the Official Paint and Coatings Partner, AkzoNobel is providing its Sikkens vehicle refinish products for all painted parts of the MCL35M, as well as the team’s transport, garage and accessories.
