Barcelona defensive target concerned about club’s financial situation, wants registration guarantee
It is no secret that Barcelona find themselves in a very difficult financial situation heading into the summer transfer window.
Given the current condition, the Blaugrana are not in a position to sign any new players and register them. So, Joan Laporta & co. are working hard to resolve the situation at the earliest possible without hampering the club’s plans for the summer window.
However, the circumstances are causing doubts within Barça’s transfer targets and their agents about a possible move to Camp Nou in the summer.
Indeed, as reported by SPORT, Fali Ramadani, the agent of Napoli defender Kalidou Koulibaly, met with Barcelona to discuss the possibility of a transfer but has expressed concerns over the prevalent financial situation at the club.
Koulibaly has emerged as one of the Catalan giants’ main targets for the summer to bolster the defensive ranks. The 30-year-old is entering the final year of his contract with Napoli and has informed the Partenopei that he wishes to leave, having already snubbed an extension offer.
The Senegalese international is believed to have his heart set on a transfer to Barcelona. And his agent, Fali Ramadani has now discussed a potential move with the Blaugrana.
However, as per the report, the agent has shown concerns over Barça’s ability to sign and register his client owing to their financial situation. He has sought assurances from Barcelona that they can go ahead with the deal and ensure successful registration before finalising a move.
This obviously comes as a headache for the Catalans director Mateu Alemany, who is trying hard to close deals ahead of the summer. President Laporta, however, has assured that things will be normal if the assembly votes in favour of the sales of stakes in BLM and TV rights.
It is imperative that the Garnet and Blue find ways to get their finances in order at the earliest possible or their transfer plans might be seriously affected.
