Barcelona ready to offer €25 million for Lewandowski, Bayern want €60 million

Fresh updates continue to emerge on the ever-evolving situation of Barcelona target and Bayern Munich superstar Robert Lewandowski.

The 33-year-old is set to enter the last 12 months of his contract with the Bavarian giants at the end of the season. As confirmed by Fabrizio Romano, talks over a new deal have not gone well as the club have been so far reluctant to meet his demands over a long-term deal.

It has put Barcelona firmly in the picture for his signing, with reports earlier on Monday even claiming that the Catalans had already struck an agreement with Lewandowski over a three-year deal.

Those claims have since been dismissed by several sources, including Romano, who did affirm that Barcelona were in talks with the Poland captain’s agents over a possible transfer in the summer.

Now, Gerard Romero has come up with a new update on the matter, with regard to the transfer fee that could be involved in Barcelona’s pursuit of Lewandowski.

The transfer expert has claimed that Barça have informed Lewandowski’s camp that they would be willing to offer a transfer fee of around €25-30 million to Bayern Munich to sign him.

Romero further insists that the Bundesliga champions are demanding a sum of €60 million for their prolific goalscorer, which the Blaugrana do not intend to pay.

Lewandowski is enjoying another stunning season with Bayern Munich, having already plundered 46 goals across all competitions. The Poland international is undoubtedly one of the best strikers in the game and would elevate the quality of this Barcelona squad.

But a transfer would hinge on the Catalans and Bayern Munich agreeing on a transfer fee. But with Barça unwilling to meet Lewandowski’s €60 million valuation, they have asked the striker to push for an exit and put pressure on Die Roten, Gerard Romero adds.

There is still some time before the summer transfer window opens and it remains to be seen how this transfer saga evolves in the coming weeks and months.
