People in Scotland are calling for The S*n to be boycotted after disgusting headline

Many citizens in Aberdeen are calling for The S*n to face a boycott, after a typically atrocious headline from the rag.

Several people died after a train derailed near Stonehaven in Aberdeenshire after heavy rainfall, with a landslide said to be the likely cause of the accident.

The Scottish edition of The S*n’s front page the following morning featured a photograph of the driver with the headline ‘DEATH EXPRESS‘.

Obviously, this wasn’t received well by the people of Aberdeen, who have now called for the rag to face a city-wide banning.

Loads of people from across Scotland took to social media to express their disgust at the handling of the ‘reporting’ of the fatal crash.

A petition shared on Change.org, which demanded an apology from The S*n and a Liverpool-style ban, has amassed over 40,000 signatures.

The S*n have since shared a written letter of apology, after Read the rest

Ben Chilwell set for Chelsea medical after clearing out his things at Leicester

Although finding a new goalkeeper should be Chelsea’s main focus this summer, there’s been a lot of rumours about signing a new left back too.

Leicester City defender Ben Chilwell’s name keeps coming up and it’s probably good timing for him to make this move, especially after the inevitable Brendan Rodgers’ slide has started at the club.

You’ll see different opinions about his quality and his rumoured price tag of £80m does seem excessive, so Chelsea will probably need to find a way of bringing that down if they want this move to happen.

The other problem was that the player seemed to be happy to stay where he was, but that’s changed after they failed to finish in the top four and murmurs of transfer requests have started to emerge.

Juventus linked with Thomas Partey

Juventus have been linked with a move for Atletico Madrid midfielder Thomas Partey, despite him reportedly being close to joining Arsenal.

The Bianconeri are planning an overhaul of their squad, following the appointment of Andrea Pirlo last week, with Blaise Matuidi having already left the club to join Inter Miami.

Juventus news site Ilbianconero report that the club are currently focused on the outgoing players, rather than making purchases, but they are looking to sign a striker, two full-backs and at least one or two new midfielders for the squad.

For this reason, the website report that Juve have resumed contacts with Atletico over 27-year-old midfielder Partey, who can a number of roles in the team, including across midfield.

Ilbianconeri suggest Partey is ready to leave Los Colchoneros this summer, should the right opportunity be available, and will be available for €40-50 million.

The report suggests the Bianconeri will look … Read the rest

Man United's new right wing target will prosper at Old Trafford, legend says

Brazil legend Rivaldo says that Barcelona winger Ousmane Dembélé would be a good transfer for Manchester United as rumours mount that the Old Trafford club are interested in signing him.

United are starting to look for alternative signings to their top target Jadon Sancho, who now appears certain to be staying at Borussia Dortmund for another season after the Red Devils missed the German side’s deadline to sign him.

Dembele, who joined Barca from Dortmund for an incredible €138 million (£124m) in 2017, has missed much of this season due to two bad injuries, but is now back in training and could play for Barcelona in the Champions League quarter-final against Bayern Munich tonight.

The MEN reports that Barcelona are open to selling the player and have slapped a €90 million (£81) asking price on him – some €30 million (£27m) less than that of Sancho.

P2 for John Surtees in a rare non-red Ferrari car | 1964 United States GP

The 1964 United States Grand Prix was a Formula One motor race held on October 4, 1964, at the Watkins Glen Grand Prix Race Course in Watkins Glen, New York. It was race 9 of 10 in both the 1964 World Championship of Drivers and the 1964 International Cup for Formula One Manufacturers. The 110-lap race was won by BRM driver Graham Hill after he started from fourth position. John Surtees finished second for the Ferrari team and Brabham driver Jo Siffert came in third.

Graham Hill padded his tenuous lead in the 1964 Drivers’ Championship over John Surtees and Jim Clark by bringing his BRM home first at The Glen for the second straight year. Surtees was second for Ferrari, 30.5 seconds back.

The Ferrari team brought four cars for John Surtees and Lorenzo Bandini, but they were not in the usual “flaming red” that the race program advertised. … Read the rest

Apple Removes Fortnite From iOS App Store; Epic Games Files Lawsuit

Apple has removed Epic Games’ Fortnite from its iOS App Store after an update earlier today added a direct in-app payment system.

The direct payment option in the mobile versions of the game offered a 20{3851c0879557ceb6c70cddb6630c7df9a9750acfd53fffec21979e603af26faa} price drop of its V-Bucks premium currency, while paying through the Apple and Google’s App Stores remained the same price as before. Epic Games said the reason was over the 30{3851c0879557ceb6c70cddb6630c7df9a9750acfd53fffec21979e603af26faa} fee that Apple and Google charges for in-app purchases.

Apple then removed Fortnite from the iOS App Store over violating in-app purchasing guidelines in a statement to The Verge:

Today, Epic Games took the unfortunate step of violating the App Store guidelines that are applied equally to every developer and designed to keep the store safe for our users. As a result their Fortnite app has been removed from the store. Epic enabled a feature in its app which was not reviewed

You can’t always get what you want

When contemplating where Arsenal need to make improvements this summer, I am minded of that famous Manchester United tweet carrying a quote from then manager David Moyes. It’s probably quicker to consider the areas where the team doesn’t need a great deal of improvement. However, in the interests of satisfying the demands of this column, I have tried to condense Arsenal’s needs this summer into bitesize priorities.

GREATER CREATIVITY
One of the curious tactical developments under Mikel Arteta is that Arsenal have become an effective counter-attacking side. They have beaten Manchester United, Liverpool, Chelsea and Manchester City under Arteta’s stewardship. With wide-forwards like Nicolas Pepe and Pierre Emerick Aubameyang, a fairly solid midfield base of Ceballos and Xhaka, three central defenders and a selection of adaptable … Read the rest

Bernardo Silva says Champions League no easier now Liverpool are out

Bernardo Silva has told his Manchester City team-mates to stay focussed – and that just because Liverpool are no longer in the competition – their passage to the Champions League Final is not guaranteed.

We’d argue that right now, Liverpool and City are the two standout teams on the planet.

City are easily the best side left in the competition, and we think only Bayern Munich might stand in their way – especially after watching PSG’s shoddy performance last night v Atalanta.

Liverpool were knocked out by Atletico Madrid before the lockdown, in very unfortunate circumstances after playing incredibly well at Anfield – but gifting our opponents a late goal via Adrian’s error.

“The fact that Liverpool are out, Real Madrid are out, it’s not going to make our path any easier. That would be a wrong thought,” Silva told Goal.

“We need to go game-by-game, be very focused, Read the rest

Aubameyang’s new Arsenal contract appears to be confirmed by brother in major hint

Arsenal fans seem to have been sent into overdrive after Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang’s brother – Willy, suggested that the talisman has signed a new contract with the Gunners.

Willy dropped a massive hint whilst hosting an Instagram Live session, as he was just casually describing his days, he was inundated by Arsenal supporters to offer an update on Pierre-Emerick’s future.

Willy was asked to wink if his younger brother has signed new terms with Mikel Arteta’s side, he immediately obliged, almost as though he knew those questions were coming.

According to the Evening Standard, Arsenal’s skipper is on the brink of agreeing a new deal until 2023, that would see the prolific forward earn £250,000-a-week.
