Liverpool condemn ‘unacceptable and shameful behaviour’ after Real Madrid team bus damaged

Liverpool have released a statement in response to the damaging of the Real Madrid team bus as it drove into Anfield, as reported by BBC Sport.

A window was shattered, with footage circulating on social media showing staff clearing broken glass from the bus itself prior to the impending clash between the two sides in the Champions League quarter-finals.

“We condemn unequivocally the actions that led to Real Madrid’s team bus being damaged during its arrival to Anfield this evening,” a spokesperson for the club said.

“It is totally unacceptable and shameful behaviour of a few individuals.

“We sincerely apologise to our visitors for any distress caused.

“We will work together with Merseyside Police to establish the facts and identify those responsible.”

The Spanish giants were greeted by supporters in the streets, with it being reported that some objects had been thrown while the vehicle travelled to the Reds’ stadium.… Read the rest

Atlético Madrid striker weighs Liverpool and Inter Miami proposals

Luis Suárez is under contract until 2022 with Atlético Madrid; however, the 34-year-old’s future could lie elsewhere.

This season, Suárez has found the fountain of youth as he’s scored 19 goals in 32 appearances for the Spanish side. Nonetheless, there’s the potential that the striker could be one and done with Los Colchoneros.

According to Deportes Cuatro (via Diario AS), Suárez is weighing two proposals, one from his former club Liverpool FC and Inter Miami. On various occasions, David Beckham has tried to sign the Uruguay international but failed.

Klopp throws down gauntlet in pre-Real Madrid press conference: “I’m in the mood for this”

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp wasn’t messing around in his press conference ahead of his side’s Champions League second leg tie with Real Madrid.

The German told journalists that only negativity can come from speaking to the media before games and the Reds will do their talking on the pitch at Anfield.

Take a look at James Pearce’s tweet below for Klopp’s full quote.

Liverpool have it all to do at Anfield, but it’s not the first time the Reds have needed a big performance in Europe and got their way

Manchester United lead race for Aston Villa star with significant budget set aside by Red Devils as Villains expect ‘monster’ bid

According to Football Insider, Manchester United lead the clubs interested in Aston Villa star Emiliano Martinez, with a Villains source admitting the club are expecting a ‘monster’ summer offer for the ace.

This comes after Football Insider reported that the Argentine graduate of rivals Arsenal tops the Red Devils’ goalkeeper shopping list.

The 28-year-old has been solid between the sticks after taking the difficult but right decision to leave Arsenal after a decade at the club for an initial fee of £17m in a deal rising to a potential £20m.

Football Insider add that United have been keeping a close eye on the man bound to win a senior cap for Argentina when international football for South American nations returns.

It’s claimed that United plan to recruit two senior goalkeepers in the summer transfer window, they intend to keep academy graduate Dean Henderson but move on David de Gea and … Read the rest

Real Madrid team news confirmed: Five first-team players miss Liverpool clash

Real Madrid have confirmed their travelling squad for the Champions League clash with Liverpool at Anfield.

Los Blancos travel to Merseyside this week ahead of Wednesday night’s evening kick-off, but will be without five of their first-team regulars.

The most notable absentee is Sergio Ramos, but fellow stars Eden Hazard, Lucas Vazquez, Raphael Varane and Daniel Carvajal join their captain on the side-lines.

Defender Eder Militao makes the cut, but is a doubt for the starting XI after feeling some discomfort during El Clasico over the weekend.

Makeshift full-back Lucas Vazquez, who played well in the reverse fixture in Madrid, has been ruled out for the remainder of the season

Liverpool star’s Barcelona ambitions set to backfire as PSG ready themselves for bid

After a woeful 2020/21 season, it wouldn’t be a surprise to see one or two Liverpool players want to move on, although that’s hardly the sort of loyalty that Jurgen Klopp and the Reds fans want to see.

The German has surely built up enough credit in the role for this season to be written off as an atypical campaign, given the horrendous injury list that no team would’ve coped with, as well as the various Covid-19 protocols to deal with.

That doesn’t appear to matter in Mo Salah’s case.

According to Don Balon, the Liverpool striker is desperate to leave the Anfield-based outfit this summer, but has ruled out a switch to Real Madrid because he wants to be the player that replaces Lionel Messi at Barcelona, either in the short or longer term.

New report claims Bayern considering hijacking LFC’s potential move for €40m rumoured Wijnaldum replacement – AZ

Bayern Munich are reportedly considering a move for rumoured Liverpool target Florian Neuhaus, according to AZ.

With Gini Wijnaldum’s Anfield future still far from certain, amidst continuing links with Ronald Koeman’s Barcelona, the Reds have been previously linked with the Bundesliga star as a potential replacement for the Dutchman.

“Bavaria has another favorite for the center anyway: Florian Neuhaus (24) from Borussia Mönchengladbach,” as was written on the German publication’s transfer news blog. Neuhaus has a contract with Borussia until 2024, but he can leave the club this summer for the transfer fee of 40 million euros.”

Video: West Ham hero Marlon Harewood can barely watch nervy closing stages of victory over Leicester

West Ham United cult hero Marlon Harewood went through a rollercoaster of emotions while watching the Hammers’ victory over Leicester City on Sunday afternoon.

David Moyes’ men, who have been one of the surprise packages of the Premier League season to date, stormed three goals ahead against fellow top four competitors Leicester City, which would ordinarily be nothing short of confirmation of their victory.

(Photo) ‘Are you not entertained!?’ Trent takes aim at critics with glorious snap after scoring Liverpool matchwinner

Trent Alexander-Arnold will take home all the glory after handing Liverpool their first win at Anfield of the year.

With the Reds level against Dean Smith’s Villans, as the tie drew to a close, the No.66 received a poorly cleared ball on the edge of the 18-yard-box and let fly from range to seal the winner.

Though we’ve no doubt that England will be the last thing on the right-back’s mind at the moment, we wouldn’t be surprised if the Red’s social media post below was a not-so-subtle nod to Gareth Southgate’s ludicrous decision to drop the fullback from the national squad.

Arsenal hope to sign rejuvenated Man United star in shock £30m transfer this summer

The days have long gone where Man United and Arsenal wouldn’t trade with each other, so it’s not a big shock anymore when players move between the clubs.

What might be a shock is if Jesse Lingard was to make the move this summer, mainly because he was completely out of favour just a few months ago.

Mikel Arteta has seen success by signing younger players with potential whereas Arsenal have been weighed down by giving big contracts to players from rival teams in the past, but Lingard has been sensational during his loan spell with West Ham.

The Daily Star have reported that West Ham do want to sign him permanently, but Arsenal are also showing an interest and he could be sold for as much as £30m in the summer.
