Scuderia Ferrari Monegasque driver Charles Leclerc previews the second race in Bahrain: “Unfortunately I don’t think it will be great for us [circuit layout]. But I love to experience new things in this sport. I think the lap time will be under 1 minute. Traffic will be a nightmare. There will be a lot of things that will make this weekend exciting.” – Charles explained.
Did you ever imagine that you would be fighting for P4 in the WDC this year?
Charles: “No. From the first race we understood in which situation we were in. We were definitely not in the fight for the fourth position but then we took every opportunity we had. We had two very big surprises, with two podiums in Silverstone and Austria, when we never thought that would be possible and then we had a very good season overall. If we can finish fourth, then it will be very good. If not, no regrets, I have done everything.”
“Would I change anything? As usual, the reply is yes, so many little details and also some incidents like the first lap in the Styrian GP and the last on in the Turkish race. I know that might sound strange, but on a personal level I am much happier with my 2020 than with 2019, even though it produced moments of unforgettable happiness. In 2020, mainly because of the clear difficulties we had to be competitive, I think I have actually made fewer mistakes compared to last year. It’s in the difficult seasons where you can develop the most and improve.” – Scuderia Ferrari Monegasque driver Charles Leclerc concluded.
