The partnership sees Playseat equip the state-of-the-art Red Bull Racing Erena with six Pro Formula rigs, as well as the top-of-the-range Playseat Formula Intelligence, the same rigs used by our Esports Team.
All Playseat products are built around a real racing position to provide maximum resemblance to real-life racing, enabling the Esports Team to improve their performance. In addition, Playseat will use feedback from the drivers to develop future products, designed to get sim-racers even closer to the reality of racing.
This year, for the very first time, the Formula One Team Red Bull Racing Honda will be putting their guests in the driving seat. Selected Red Bull Racing Paddock Club events throughout the season will be giving guests the chance to pit their sim-racing skills against the professionals in the ‘Beat the Pro’ time trials series.
Another development, which will be a first for the fans, sees Playseat working on plans to produce a special edition Sensation Pro rig. This is the same rig Marcel Kiefer used to win the 2020 F1 Pro Series Team Championship and will be available with Red Bull Racing Esports livery later this year.
Red Bull Racing Honda Chief Marketing Officer Oliver Hughes said:
Playseat is one of the most recognised brands in Esports and we are excited to begin this partnership. Playseat will not only ensure that our Red Bull Racing Esports drivers have access to the best equipment, but they will also provide our Paddock Club guests with the very best gaming experience. Our fans are central to everything we do as a team and this partnership will bring them even closer to the action.
Fernando Smit, Founder and President of Playseat:
Playseat is proud to have worked alongside Red Bull for over 10 years and we are excited to expand our partnership to the Red Bull Racing Esports Team. As Playseat becomes even more ingrained in the Esports program, we are excited to activate our fan engagement projects, as well as providing Erena with the best equipment. We look forward to giving our maximum support to all joint endeavours, as we take sim racing to an even broader audience.
