Statistic suggests this is the reason why United are struggling at home

Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer will be happy to see how defensively solid his team have been at home but it’s ultimately come at a cost.

The legendary Norwegian has overseen some poor home form this season as his side struggle to pick up the necessary points in their own comforts.

United have been far better away from home results-wise, even if some of them have come about from comeback victories.

Solskjaer was stunned earlier in the season by Tottenham Hotspur’s 6-1 mauling of his side and has perhaps been conservative ever since.

However, whatever the reason for the home form, the statistic below suggests there’s an imbalance in the team currently.

As good as those numbers read, Manchester United have also only scored once at home since that Spurs clash as well.

It seems defensive security has had to come at the cost of attacking creativity meaning Solskjaer has to find a way to get the balance right otherwise the poor home form will continue.

Many have accused the former Molde man of playing one too many defensive midfielders and how it often inhibits United going forward.

Whatever the case may be, if Solskjaer wants to keep his job then simply put he needs to pick up more points at Old Trafford, whether or not he does it with style.
