The controversy around Sergio Aguero’s Coronavirus test

According to TyC Sports, Barcelona’s new signing Sergio Aguero tested positive for the Coronavirus. At first glance, the 33-year-old looked to miss 2 games with his national team, namely against Chile and Colombia respectively.

However, according to journalist Veronica Brunati, Aguero took 5 tests last week and yesterday’s AFA test result was positive, but they already did a more reliable test and the result was negative. This indicates that yesterday’s test was a ‘false positive’.

In other words, the Argentine has tested negative for Covid-19 in a more reliable test. There even is a document confirming that “the virus is not detected”.

We will have to wait and see whether Barcelona’s signing will be available with his national team. More reports will follow.
