Tim Viens is hoping to get into NASCAR team ownership. On Wednesday, he revealed Glory 2 God Racing, which he hopes to début on track for the 2022 Camping World Truck Series season.
“2022 it’s coming !!!! Glory 2 God Racing,” Viens posted on Instagram with the team’s logo attached. The image suggests the team name can be shortened to G2G (Racing).
Viens has competed on a sporadic basis in the Truck Series since 2015 for a variety of teams with fourteen career starts. In 2020, he ran ten races for CMI Motorsports with a best finish of twenty-fourth at the Daytona Road Course. His best career outing is twenty-third in his series début at Dover. He entered the first two races of 2021 for CMI but failed to qualify for both.
The Vermont native also has three Xfinity Series races to his name, all with Mike Harmon Racing, since 2018. Viens’s highest finish in that series is eighteenth at the Daytona oval in 2020.
A week before the announcement, Viens purchased Toyota Tundras from Kyle Busch Motorsports, which he confirmed on Wednesday are part of the team’s fleet. Additional details including a number and crew members were not immediately revealed, but Viens commented on Facebook that the team “got a good one” in response to a question about Toyota personnel and “will announce soon”.
